I am Headteacher at Langtree School, Woodcote. I have been a governor since 2015 when my son started at Long Lane. In that time I have sat on the Curriculum Committee which has since been absorbed into the Operations Committee. I have been responsible for overseeing the Sports Premium Grant and I currently monitor the strategic plan for and impact of the Pupil Premium Grant. I have greatly enjoyed my first term as a governor and it has given me an insight into the primary sector having worked in secondary education for most of my working life. I am the Pupil Premium Governor |

I am delighted to be joining Long Lane as Head teacher in September 2022. I have been lucky enough to have taught in 3 different West Berkshire schools for 26+ years and, in this time, have taught in every year group from Reception to Year 6. After qualifying as a SENDCo in 2011, I have held a number of leadership roles including Phase Leader, SENDCo, Inclusion Leader and for the last four years as Deputy Head and DSL of a large three form entry primary school in Newbury. I have 3 children who are now grown and beginning to fly the nest. My main role on the Governing Board is being held to account for all the activities and decisions made for the best interests of the children, families, and staff. I also advise on the strategic vision of the school. I am really looking forward to leading Long Lane and continuing the good work that has already been started. |
Miss Kerry Penn |
Staff Governor - Operations Committee |

I completed teacher training after having children and worked at Beechwood Primary School in Wokingham as an Infant teacher and Foundation Stage Lead. Prior to this I worked for British Airways in an accounting role. I joined Long Lane in September 2015 as the Year 1 class teacher and am delighted to have recently been appointed as Deputy Head Teacher. I am passionate about developing best practice in teaching and learning and feel fortunate to be part of such a talented and supportive team of staff. I have three children, a son and two daughters, and was fortunate to be able to take a career break to spend time with them before they started school. I developed a deep interest in child development and early learning while raising my children. I am excited to have joined the governing board as a Staff Governor. I am looking forward to being able to represent the staff point of view at meetings. |

I am new to the governing board, having joined as a co-opted governor towards the end of 2020. I live locally in Reading and am currently a Civil Servant working for the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government as a Finance Business Partner. Before joining the Civil Service, I worked in financial audit at KPMG. I also have experience volunteering in a primary school as a reading assistant, and at a foundation special school helping with reflexology. I am a keen sports player and have played hockey competitively for County and University teams. I have experience coaching juniors and am enthusiastic to support opportunities for pupils to participate in sport. I am looking forward to my role as a governor and to meeting pupils, parents, and staff in the coming year. |

First and foremost I'm a happily married mother to two adult daughters, both of whom work with children. Having worked for the John Lewis Partnership for 38 years, most recently as Learning and Development Consultant to senior leadership teams, I’m embarking on a new career as a funeral celebrant. I live locally and spend my spare time riding horses, practicing pilates, card making, reading, solving puzzles like Sudoku, playing tennis and learning about social history, art and the natural world. Being half Norwegian I also enjoy skiiing when I get the chance! I love travelling to visit people around the world. I learn so much more about a culture if I can stay with local people and, luckily for me, my daughters have lived far and wide including China, Japan and San Francisco, with one currently working in Norway.
My link with Long Lane Primary is that three of my nieces came to the school - one graduated in art, one in music and one still studying music at Cardiff. It's a pleasure to be part of a very professional Governors' team where I‘ll be using my skills to the benefit of the school. |

I have worked in education for thirty one years. I have been a classroom teacher, SENDCO and senior leader. I am currently working as a Head of Service for SEND Support and as an advisor. I believe that all children are entitled to a quality education and ensuring this, should be at the heart of what a school does. I have had an interest in special educational needs since the start of my career. I am looking forward to working with other members of the governing board, the staff, parents and pupils, to take Long Lane on the next steps of its journey. |

For the past 20 years I have worked for Reckitt Benckiser, a UK based multinational consumer goods company. I started my career in Marketing, before moving into regional and then global leadership roles. For the past 6 years I have headed a team who lead Global transformation projects. I have 2 children at Long Lane, my son started in 2017 and my daughter in 2020. I enjoy running, singing in a local choir and getting the family out and about in our local area. I'm looking forward to joining the Governing Board and supporting the school as they progress their goals and objectives over the coming years. |
