Reading Spine
A reading spine is a curated "core" list of essential, high-quality books. It acts like a literary map, ensuring every pupil builds a shared bank of stories that develop their imagination and vocabulary. By focusing on these specific "must-read" titles, the school helps children move from simple picture books to complex novels with confidence and a genuine love for reading.

Our friends at School Reading List have put together a list of recommended reading books for children in Year 4. All widely available to buy or pick up from a local library there's even more to enjoy together at home.
No Outsiders Reading List

We proactively teach about Difference and Diversity in each class and as a wider school as part of our therapeutic ethos. We want to ensure that diversity is represented and explored through safe and supportive activities and discussion. Our No Outsiders programme supports this through stories and planned lessons and assemblies.
