Chair of Governors
Local Authority Governor
Jennifer Folliard
I am currently a civil servant, working for Public Health England as a Health Protection Practitioner. I am a qualified Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience in the public sector around the Thames Valley, completing my undergraduate degree at University of Salford and my Masters of Public Health with University of Manchester. I have worked in a Local Authority, University, NHS mental health/community trust and a period of secondment to my professional institute, prior to joining the civil service.
As well as subject knowledge of health and safety, food safety and infectious diseases, I have skills in audit (clinical and quality), training, interpretation of legislation and working in an advisory role.
I am the Chair of governors and I have been a governor since 2018.

Staff Governor
Kerry Penn
I completed teacher training after having children and worked at Beechwood Primary School in Wokingham as an Infant teacher and Foundation Stage Lead. Prior to this I worked for British Airways in an accounting role. I joined Long Lane in September 2015 as the Year 1 class teacher and am delighted to have recently been appointed as Deputy Head Teacher. I am passionate about developing best practice in teaching and learning and feel fortunate to be part of such a talented and supportive team of staff.

I have three children, a son and two daughters, and was fortunate to be able to take a career break to spend time with them before they started school. I developed a deep interest in child development and early learning while raising my children.
I am excited to have joined the governing board as a Staff Governor. I am looking forward to being able to represent the staff point of view at meetings.

Co-opted Governor
Caroline Magrane
I am really excited to be a part of this governing body. I am a Law graduate with banking, insurance and corporate finance specialist experience working as a Private Banker for a leading UK Private Bank.

I am a committed individual with a proven ability to understand complex transactional matters within the banking, private wealth management and corporate market, effectively establishing and leveraging from strong networks of contacts and engaging successfully at all levels.
I'm a pragmatic problem solver, client focused and results driven.

Clerk to Governors
Claire Furneaux
I started working as the Clerk to the Governors at Long Lane Primary School in September 2024 and thoroughly enjoy working with such a dedicated and inspiring team. My background is predominantly in education and administration, previously working as a Secondary/Sixth Form Teacher and for an education team at a local museum. I currently work for Children's Services alongside this role, and it is important for me to be in a job where I am contributing towards having a positive impact on children's lives.
Although my own children do not attend this school, I have huge admiration for Long Lane Primary School, and the nurturing and inclusive ethos aligns perfectly with my own values.

Head Teacher
Tina Allison
Having joined Long Lane as Head teacher in September 2022, I have had the privilege of shaping the vision and values of Long Lane and supporting everyone to grow and succeed. I have been lucky enough to have taught previously in three different West Berkshire schools for 26+ years and, in this time, have taught in every year group from Reception to Year 6. After qualifying as a SENDCo in 2011, I have held a number of leadership roles including Phase Leader, SENDCo, Inclusion Leader and for the last four years as Deputy Head and DSL of a large three form entry primary school in Newbury.
My main role on the Governing Board is being held to account for all the activities and decisions made for the best interests of the children, families, and staff. I also advise on the strategic vision of the school.

Co-Opted Governor
Pupil Premium Governor
Ross Miles
It is a pleasure to join the governing body at Long Lane Primary School. I am currently working in a specialist secondary setting in West London as an Assistant Headteacher, following a period of time working in an all through specialist setting, mainstream secondary and in an International School in Thailand.

Parent Governor
Andrew Glenshaw
I am a project manager specialising in commercial office fit out. I have worked in real estate and facilities management for over 20 years and have developed strong skills in communication, organisation, and planning. I look forward to supporting the school and the Board of Governors to contribute to their ongoing success as a part of the local community.

I am looking forward to participating in the continuous development of the school not only as a parent but as an active member of this governing body.

Parent Governor
Stuart Andrew
Originally from Lincolnshire, I did my Allied Health Professional training in Sheffield where I qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer and came to Reading in 2007.

I have worked in multiple large NHS trusts over the last 20 years and developed a wealth of experience and specialist subject knowledge within my field, including interventional radiology and cross sectional imaging. Roles with my current employer include managing the CT department and currently my focus for the last 5 years has been leading a dedicated cancer pathway.

Working in the NHS has instilled in me the importance of clear communication always with empathy and willingness to listen, collaborative working, problem solving and accountability to maintain high standards under regulatory frameworks to deliver the best possible service to patients. It is a privilege to join the Governing board and as a parent myself I am invested in supporting the school and its staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for our children.
