SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
AND OUR PRIORITIES

All schools are required to develop priorities each year to ensure that there is an ongoing strategic drive to move the school forward and improve the overall quality of education provided for pupils. At Long Lane we are passionate in driving the school forward in line with our values and principles – these are clearly set out in the school prospectus.

In order to determine what the school's priorities are each year, we go through a rigorous process of evidence gathering and stakholder voice.

Please see our current priorities as set out below. In addition to this we continue to strengthen existing elements of the school and would be happy to speak with you in more detail about these.

DESIRED OUTCOMES THROUGH 'SHINE'

Sharing good practice – Opportunities for all staff to share good practice through coaching and regular development opportunities using research based CPD.

Home Partnership – Continue to foster effective learning communication with stakeholders through a clear and user friendly website, opportunities for learning workshops and active support for children, at home.

Inclusion for all – Focusing on the best quality first teaching and TA effectiveness to challenge and support all learners at their starting points through Rosenshine principles, reasonable adjustments, personalised learning for individual pupils and research based interventions to keep up rather than catch up.

Numeracy Maths Mastery – Embedding Mastery number across the school by adjusting lessons, supporting a framework for mastery at Long Lane, increasing means of participation in lessons, sharing and seeking good practice through the Maths Mobius hub programme.

English Refined – Continue to support pupils to achieve high standards in Reading through a Fluency approach and robust home/school support through a ‘Love of Reading’. Ensure that there are high expectations in writing across the school, embedding the writing curriculum and editing processes whilst ensuring ‘access for all – liberation’ through quality first teaching.
