We use the Read Write Inc. Phonics scheme in Key Stage 1 to teach our children to read fluently and accurately, enabling them to focus on comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling, ultimately fostering a love of reading.

The program emphasizes decoding skills, allowing children to sound out words and read fluently, which is crucial for comprehension. By focusing on reading fluency, children can dedicate more attention to understanding the meaning of what they read.

The program's structured approach to phonics also supports the development of vocabulary and spelling skills. as well as encouraging our children to develop a love of books through daily reading experiences, both at home and at school. ​​​​
