In Year 5, students step out of their comfort zones during an adventurous two-day trip to Wokingham Waterside Centre and participate in the Sports Leaders Playmaker Award, enhancing their leadership skills in preparation for Year 6 roles like House Captains, Sports Ambassadors, Wellbeing Ambassadors, and leading clubs for their peers. In swimming, they focus on mastering essential skills such as swimming 25m unaided executing various strokes, and performing safe self-rescue techniques. Additionally, they enjoy topic-related trips and themed dress-up days. We strive for excellence while ensuring plenty of fun along the way!

We love reading stories together in Rainbow Class. Whether it's Rosie's Walk or searching out the Gruffalo we enjoy exploring stories as we learn. You can find our more about all of the books we read each term from our Reading Spine document.
Recommended Reading
Our friends at School Reading List have put together a list of recommended reading books for children in Rainbow Class. All widely available to buy or pick up from a local library there's even more to enjoy togehter at home.
We proactively teach about Difference and Diversity in each class and as a wider school as part of our therapeutic ethos. We want to ensure that diversity is represented and explored through safe and supportive activities and discussion. Our No Outsiders programme supports this through stories and planned lessons and assemblies.
You can find out more on our 'Diversity and Equality' page.
